Very disappointing not to be recommended at all, I just paid 3.99€ for nothing just crap interface guiding you to other websites etc... :-(

La meilleur appli de livre de cuisine que jai utilisé. Jai maintenant un vrai workflow: je telecharge les recettes sur mon mac, et je les utilise a la cuisine. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- This is by far the most useful cookbook app Ive ever used. I now have a true workflow where I can download/copy recipes from the web on paprika for mac, then use them from my iPod in the kitchen. For the iPad app, there is one small feature request that would make the app truly spectacular: the ability to flip between two or three recipes easily. When Im cooking a few dishes at the same time, Id love to be able to refer to each recipe without redoing my search every time.
Recipe management is fairly easy on an iPad, the iPhone is used more to read for quick recall than actual kitchen use. Any serious editing is better done on a desktop or an iPad. An integrated browser is a useful feature which makes saving recipes easy, not much to say in that department. One sore point is the meal planning, it is a very useful feature but the interface is clunky, moving a recipe requires way too many steps, I just want to move things around, not follow a four steps "wizard". This area should go under high scrutiny and rework to improve the flow. There is some lack of coherence between versions, buttons not in the same spot even though the screen looks very similar. There are a few details that would need attention to make things even smoother. I like it but I dont love it (for now).
This is the best app EVER. You can use recipes from loads of sites, the app will import them, organise the ingredients list and directions to cook, categories and you can score them to see which are the family faves. It has in built timers for cooking times, etc. and I use my iPad and iPhone in the kitchen and it is brilliant that your iPad or phone won’t switch itself off whilst the app is running, thus avoiding sticky/dirty fingers touching screens and home buttons. You can plan your meals into the app’s calendar, add ingredients to app’s hopping list where you can also add other items like household cleaning stuff etc. and therefore regrouping shopping lists into one. You can export the meal planner into iCal or BusyCal (that’s what we have at home) and you can export the shopping list into your reminders. You can add the ingredients you have in your pantry so the app offers you not to add those items you already have in the shopping list. Even though not the cheapest of apps, it is worth every penny, and I must emphasise that. Makes meal planning/shopping easy and no need to print anything as you can just read and tick off the ingredients from your shopping list (which, by the way, is organised by aisle) straight from your iPhone. But should you wish to print it, you can, and it’s beautifully done, separated by areas/aisles like produce, meat, miscellaneous, dairy, etc. It all synchs beautifully (iPad/iPhone/iMac in our case) so I can make changes when out shopping if any ingredients are not available and it is instantly updated on all devices. Yes, yes. I love it. it is totally amazing.
This is the best cooking App ever!!! Fantastic! For those about to cook..... I salute you....
Very nice app, but the German localization is awful. For example "vorwärts" should be "weiter" and "maße" should be "Mengen" or better, "Mengenangaben" (if space permits).
I was searching for an App that allows me to combine own recipes with internet-recipes, recipes from cooking magasines etc etc. Finally found it with Paprika (funny name btw) Guys, you made me happy because i got rid of several recipe sources and now i have all in one. Congrats, really well done, just perfect !!!
For me this app is indispensable. Its my recipe book and shopping list rolled into one, and makes my life in and out of the kitchen much easier. The new recipe saving feature works very well, Ive just used it on 5 quite different sites that werent previously support and use slightly random formats, and for each one Paprika perfectly got the information.
Loved the app til it crashed. All 250 recipes lost. NOT happy. Reinstalled but no recipes. Trying to use app again and continues to close unexpectedly. Wont allow me to log in to cloud to try to retrieve recipes.
I really like this app! Very well presented, the last update is very nice! Got it on iPad, iPhone and MacBook Pro!! :)
I dont often feel compelled to write reviews. However, this really is the best app that I have ever used. It does every thing that it claims to and does it so well!! I just had my second child and dont often feel like Im very organized. With Paprika on my side, I have one less thing to worry about, whats for dinner!!
Dec 5/13 :) Thank you for bringing back the most recent and high rated categories. Much better! Still cant connect to my Pinterest account, hence 4 stars instead of 5 Dec 2/13 Cant connect with my Pinterest account since the last couple of updates. Before that there was no problem. Seems like your fixing is going in the wrong direction. Is there any way to go back to the before-the-update version? This version is NOT an improvement. Its cheap looking, hard to navigate. Thousands of years of language development and were back to hieroglyphics. And give me back the "recent recipes" section. Also, harder to read the recipes compared with previous version.
Been using this app since it first came out. This app has come a long way since its first release. Im liking the improvements made. I use it for keeping online recipes Ive found and like. P.S. I dont use Paprika with other social media, so I cannot comment on its ability to connect to other social media.
I dont normally write reviews (but I do read them!) and I am shocked that this App isnt flooded with praise for Version 2. Ive used this App for years and it has changed the way we eat, shop, and plan meals. When we first downloaded the App its potential blew me away. No more cookbooks and piles of magazine and newspaper recipes. No more paper shopping lists and calendars, and best of all everything in one place. However with every update they improved on what I thought was already perfect. Wow! Now as to Version 2, my personal favourites are; nested folders (I had to resort my entire collection but what an improvement), the ability to assemble multiple recipes into a meal then name and store that meal for future use in planning (perfect), the new recipe edit screen is incredibly easy to use, and lastly the refreshed capability for manually building recipes from unsupported web sites is a huge improvement. As to the return of Most Recent and Top Rated, well I thought you had it right the first time. Managing real estate is one of the most difficult tasks when designing Apps, especially when used on a phone. So by combining theses two into the All Recipe folder then allowing sorting by "most recent" and "top rated" seemed like an obvious improvement. Guess Im alone on this one...either way works. Ive looked at recipe Apps on this and other platforms and this is the best by far. Well done Paprika!
As great as this app is, surely there must be a way to point out the differences in iPad only version and the iPad/iPhone combination version. Chances are I might have liked it well enough in the iPhone version on the iPad to pay for a second iPad only app but right now, I have a very bad taste in my mouth that no recipe is going to fix.
I just started using Paprika. Like other reviewers, I wish it worked with Pinterest. Perhaps there is a work around that I dont know of? You need Read It Later bookmarklet. I wasnt aware of that. Lukcily I had got it recently through a promotion. Im not sure if you have to pay for a second app or not but otheres should be aware to look in to what that means for them. It doesnt upload PDFs. I get why but I wish there was a way to import, copy etc my huge PDF collection of recipes. It doesnt use file formats that I am familiar with. Perhaps you need a Mac? Again if there is a work around, Id love to know about it. Buyer beware that the initial set up may confuse you as well. You have to cut a small script in to a bookmark. The instructions are thorough and I was able to do it with out help. If this intimidates you ask someone to help, its a 5 minute thing but it was a little scary to me at first. Despite the few set backs, its still worth putting the time and effort in to. There is no simple way to organize your recipes but I am optimistic that once I get in the groove of using this app, things will go smoother. I am most excited for using the grocery list and meal planner options!
Have been using the app for a while and love it. On the latest update you have a switch between numbers and measurements when entering a recipe. This is annoying and requires many extra steps when inputting a recipe. They use to be on the same line. Please change back to the previous set up! It was a 5 star app, now it is a 4
I recently purchased the app for my iPad and started using it. It works very well getting recipes from the web and adding to my database. However I cannot seem to get the app on my iPhone without paying again. Isnt there a Universal app?
Awesome app, BUT!!! You must by app for each device. So Mac version is $20 iPhone and iPad are both $5. NOT COOL! Seeing as all other apps are buy 1 version and the rest are included.
Excellent app but would prefer iCloud sync over your own.
