Paprika Recipe Manager App Reviews

The Recipe Manager youve been looking for!

Finally, the perfect cooking app for me and my family! Not only is it easy to input and organize your own recipes, you can use the built-in web browser to find the perfect recipe, and then quickly save it into your recipe box from darn near any website! Even better, sync data across devices so you can find that great recipe no matter where you are. No add-on purchases, no memberships to tiny foodie communities, just you the Internet and the food you love!

Will not update or download

Owned and used it for years. It is excellent. Recently it would not update, so i uninstalled it hoping to reinstall it. Now it will not install. Makes no sense. iPad meets all the requirements listed. Ill change my star rating once this is fixed. Because it is a good app, when its installed!

Simply the best

That is one of the most usefull app that I have! I use it pretty much daily and its very user friendly. You can easily add all your recepies, copy them directly from the internet, create grocerie lists, and build you menus for the week and (why not?!) the month to come!! This app is just amazing!! Love it!!

Great Upgrade

This is by far my favourite recipe manager app. The latest upgrade is outstanding. I like to find recipes from a variety of blogs and random sites and with the latest upgrade it could not be easier. Saving your grandmas (or blogger345s) favourite recipe couldnt be easier. And pair it with the iPhone app to make creating your shopping list and having it instantly with you a breeze (or even better send out your lovely partner with the list on his/her phone). Highly recommend it.

So good, yet so disappointing.

I bought Paprika due to its great reviews. I love the way it works on my iPad. I went to download it on my iPhone so I could take advantage of access to the grocery lists and to my surprise Im expected to pay for the app again?! This is ridiculous. The iPhone app is clearly labelled for iPhone. The iPad app is not labelled at all for iPad unless you read the very fine print. For an app that touts its connectivity between devices as a big feature you think they might also make it explicit that youll have to buy their app for each device you want to connect. I mean who the heck takes their iPad grocery shopping with them. It really limits the usefulness of this app.

Great

Have ton of my recipes on the app now. Takes very little space. Would love to have a search function.

Fantastic app

I have been using Paprika for a few years now, and have found it extremely user-friendly, and generally well designed. I recently thought it would be nice to have a sort of tabbed view so you could easily switch between recipes. I emailed the developer asking if that was possible/suggesting it as a feature, and within a day he responded to me. It was already implemented through the ability to pin recipes. Brilliant! I cannot recommend this app highly enough. It is just really really good.

A must for the kitchen

Absolutely fabulous! So useful, and has really streamlined the cooking process.

Beware! Not Universal!

Hard to believe in the year 2016 that this is NOT a universal app - you have to purchase it again for use on iPhone! So consider carefully where you will tend to use it/which iOS device if you only want to pay for it once. I was having fun using it on my iPad until I went to download it to my iPhone - you know, it would be handy to reference the recipe ingredients while out shopping for groceries, right? Thats when I realized Id have to pay for it again for that convenience... So yes, I am very disappointed, as this is technically a $14 app if you want to sync to all of your iOS devices, which makes it not worth it. Guess Ill email screenshots to myself...

Best App Ever

This was the first app I ever bought and I still love it!

Rip off. You have to buy the app twice if you want it on another device

Youd be better buying another recipe app once and sharing it with your other devices, than paying twice to have on both iPad and iPhone. It says its Compatible with iPad and iPhone... but only as long as you buy it twice. What a rip off.

I love it

The best cooking app. Very convenient, beautiful and handy.

Best recipe app

Perfect for your recipes. Import from web and a really nice interface. A better app icon and it would be 5 stars.

1 Star for greed!!!!

I have bought the paprika app for my laptop, but figured that it would work better for me to have on my iPad. I paid $19.99 for the laptop app. Then they charge me again $4.99 for the iPad app. Now that want to bring the shopping list to my iPhone they ask to buy it again!!! Really? Thats really greedy! I find it already a stretch to pay for iPad and laptop, but ok I let it slide. I decided to review it poorly because you guys are greedy to charge for every device separately. For that reason I will NEVER recommend you again! I wish I would have bought a different recipe app which are just as this one or better! Shame on you!!! If you are thinking about buying this app think again...!!

Solid, but Needs Way to Add More Info–

Whats here already is solid and dependable, but its missing some basic recipe info, and it would be nice have some options on display & print formats–including what info wed like included in each, i.e., I dont need or want to see categories when I print a recipe out. Wheres the Yield field? Servings are included, but not Yield, which is a pretty big omission- its great to know a recipe will serve 6-8 people, but more important to know it makes 3 dozen cookies. Or an 8" cake. Or a 9" pie and not a 9 1/2" pie. Also missing is an area for an introduction to the recipe– where the recipe writer tells you a bit about the intention behind the techniques, or a bit about what aspects they were trying to emphasize, or even a brief memory of where the recipe originated from. These are separate from Notes, which is where we the cooks add our advice or thoughts about the recipe, or hints on how to manage tricky parts, or even just explain a step so we can understand it better than how it was written. I want to love it, and I do love how well it captures things off the web, but there are quite a few things missing that anyone whos been cooking outside of the Internet finds extremely handicapping.

Best recipe app ever, hands down!

I love this app. Effortless downloading off internet, very nice appearance, add own recipes, nutrition breakdown, sorting options, search ingredients, what else could you ask for? I have even incorporated all my family recipes into this app. Using the ingredients, I have managed to calculate the fat, calories, etc., per serving. Pretty awesome app! This app keeps getting better! Now they have autocomplete, so it gets to know you!!keep up the great work! So easy to use!

Buyer beware-iPad only!

This is an iPad. Erosion only! If you want to have the app on your iPhone you must purchase the iPhone version for another $4.99! Wish I would have read the fine print more carefully. Boooo way to get money from us.

Best App

I was using a number of different apps for my recipes. This one is the best. It always imports from the web with no problems. Others always misses the picture or something. Well worth the money.

Our whole family uses this app

Great app! We have tried others but love he interface and ease of use of Paprika. Our family has made a project of capturing all the old family recipes ...we split up the chore of entering old recipes...and this app is super easy to use to share with everyone. Love it!

Amazing, missing one thing

This is a dream app. Exactly what I was looking for. It would have 5 stars from me except for one thing... It has two interfaces for editing recipes. One is the interface for importing recipes off of the web. This is an amazing feature... Breath taking, actually.... While importing, you may edit the recipe... Fix any mistakes... It sometimes chooses the wrong picture or title, for example. Then once your recipe is saved, If you need to edit it, it loads it into a completely NEW interface. Since the recipe remembers where it came from, there needs to be an option to return to the source page, and then locate and add the proper images and texts, just like when you first imported it. Lastly, I was able to change the recipe photo ONCE while importing.... however, I was not able to do this with any more recipes. Its not intuitive how its supposed to work, and perhaps I did the right thing once by accident. But these small editing gripes aside... Paprika is the perfect meal planned/shopping/recipe tool ever.
