Paprika Recipe Manager App Reviews

One of the best apps ever!

I have tried several different recipe apps, and Paprika is simply one of the best apps ever, not just the best recipe app. It is very well thought out, and works perfectly. The way it imports recipes from the web is flawless, and the editing is quite intuitive. I bought the app for all three platforms--iPad, iPhone and Mac, so no matter where I am I have access to the content. The fact that you have to buy each of the three separately should not be a problem for anyone, because the developer needs to write three quite separate apps, and should be compensated for a terrific job. I havent found anything to complain about in any of the three apps. These is a feature which is amazing--if you find a recipe on the web, if you just copy the address, when you open or return to Paprika on the iPad, it asks you if you want to load the recipe, and if you say yes, everything is done automatically. A real time-saver. If you are debating as to whether to buy this app, I highly recommend it.

Simply the best

Paprika is amazing, Ive had it since I have owned a first gen iPad, the improvements are amazing, they upgrade stuff before I even think about it! Use of the app is gratifying. Just like baking and cooking!

Excellent Recipe Manager - Navigation Can Be Improved

I use Paprika several times a week for my BBQ recipes. I love how easy it is to organize & create new recipes from the web. Navigation from recipe to recipe could be improved especially if you have your recipes organized into categories. Navigation would be easier if the app functioned more like a web browser. I would love to be able to press a forward or back button to quickly navigate between my recently viewed recipes. This is the only aspect of Paprika that is keeping me from giving it 5 stars. It is a 5 star app but Im holding it to high standards.

Love, love this app!

I love this app so much, Ive deleted all other food recipe apps from my iPad! The only thing I hate is having ads in a program I paid $5 for!

Exactly what I need!

This app is perfect! I have just downloaded a bunch of recipes. So simple and easy to use. Im very impressed!!

Indispensible app... and a suggestion

Such a user-friendly, fun, fabulous app for cooks. I love that I can easily save recipes on my phone, computer, or iPad and that they all synch easily. I love that I can edit recipes and create my own customized system of organizing or tagging them. Im so happy with this app that Ive never once felt frustrated with it (a miracle with technology!)... until today, when trying to use the pantry feature. I saw on the app that theres a plan to update this feature soon so that one can create ones own pantry items, and thats great/totally necessary. (You guys dont have canned tomatos as a pantry option!!! Is there a more quintessential pantry item?) But I have an additional request, if the developpers ever look at these. It would be really helpful to have some sort of way to tick pantry items when youre running low. Maybe this could just be ticking a box that youre running out. Or maybe thered just be an optional space for notes for each pantry item, so you can write something like "only a cup left." That would be helpful for items you dont use very frequently so that you dont replace them months before you need to, but you also dont end up short when trying to make a recipe. You could also use the notes section to make other notes about pantry items... like I often wish I kept track of when I bought my spices, vinegars, or sauces, so Id know when to throw them out and replace them. Just a thought. Thanks for making an amazing app!!!

Best syncing recipe app

I have used MacGourmet on the Mac for many years, but its iOS version has never quite synced correctly (creating duplicate versions of recipes on the iPad after renaming a recipe on the Mac, only syncing some recipe edits from iPad to Mac, etc). Paprika syncs perfectly between iPad and Mac, its easy to manage and edit recipes on iOS, and the web browser works well for finding new recipes. I cant move all of my old recipes over from MG unless/until Paprika for Mac adds cookbook layout and printing, but Ive switched to Paprika on iOS & Mac for all new recipes.

love, Love, LOVE

I have been using this app since the early days of iPads. If my it was all my iPad could do, I would buy another if it broke. I have gifted it to so many grateful people. Its well worth the price.

Great App! A few suggestions for future updates

This is the best recipe app Ive ever used. Syncs perfectly between all my devices, and our family group works perfectly. A couple of improvements Id love to see: 1. A "store" field for grocery items so I can quickly see what I need to get at a particular store 2. A quick shop list for items I usually buy at particular stores like Costco, TJs, etc, and also just so I can have a list of things I always like to keep on hand Thank you for a wonderful app!

Sharing is important

So I need to buy the iPad version AND the iPhone version if I want to sync the familys recipes? No thanks. Modern apps work on all iOS devices. Id pay $5 for this app but not $10.

Absolute genius

I got the Mac app and the matching iPad and iPhone apps. The sync is fast and flawless. The web recipe scraper is great, the meal planner and the UI/UX are fantastic. Even the print formatting is beautiful. The choice of fonts and color highlights adds a touch of class unmatched by other apps. In features and execution, this app is a pure joy to use. Highly recommended!

Really great app well designed

Update 10-28-2016 This is an awesome recipe app. With the built in Web Browser it is so easy to down load just about any recipe as well as the directions on the internet. This really saves a lot of time. Then the app creates a shopping list. I love a well designed app that does all the Boring and time consuming tasks for me. More apps should take note this is the new way to work. Net step is AI that could actually interact with you thats the future. App that allow the user to be creative and not waiting time being bogged down spending time with all the routine boring task in every day life. Feature request: I would love a scanner function so I could take old family recipes and add then to the app. Also, a way to take a photo on my iPad and import the recipe. By reading it off of the photo. Not just adding a photo to the app but reading the text and importing said text and direction.

Excellent app

This app is the best recipe app ever. I use it constantly. With its own browser I can go to any recipe website and clip The recipe. The app will automatically separate ingredients from directions. It will sync across my iPad and iPhone. The ingredients section helps to serve as a grocery list. I can copy or take a picture of the final dish. I would give the app 10 stars! Get it!

Great App

I never review apps but this one warranted the time. Im constantly finding recipes on the web, facebook, email, etc and I never can remember where I saved them. Pinterest only works about half the time for me so that wasnt working either. Then I found paprika. Wow! I was able to import my current cookbook from living cookbook desktop application. Now every recipe I find on the web, with the click of a button, saves into my paprika cookbook which includes all my current desktop recipes. I leave them uncategorized until I try them and either delete it or put it in the proper category for future reference. It is awesome. Id say the two downsides are the price, at $4.99 for each device, its steep but well worth the time it has saved me, and the fact that you cant just snap a picture of a magazine recipe and save it like some other apps are capable of doing. Aside from those two obstacles it is worth every penny. The seamless sync between devices is great as well. Ill find and save a recipe on. Y iPad and it will be on my phone when Im at the store shopping. Great app! You wont be sorry for purchasing this!

Great app!

I have purchased numerous cooking and food apps from the free to the most expensive. This is by far the easiest and best quality for the money out there. I dont have the app on multiple devices and only use on my iPad. Other expensive apps dont download recipes from sites with the same ease as paprika. Other apps dont organize the recipes as easily Very happy with my purchase! Update 11/16 Finally got the app on my phone and desktop. The sync works seamlessly. Loving it more everyday and am now moving my recipes from other apps to paprika,

Misleading

The app itself is fine, however they do not make it clear that the App must be purchased for each device. On an app that promotes syncing between devices, that is very disappointing.

Love this app!

Makes it so easy to copy recipes from the web. Copy link, open app, click load, save, create, done. Hard to imagine anything could make it easier. SO convenient. Now, if I could only get it to cook for me.

Simply Awesome!

This app is simply awesome. It is done very well, and is very intuitive when you have to manually save an app. There are an amazing amount of apps that save by just using the built in "save" button, but I can get all others using the manual save system. One of my very favorite apps - out of over 400 apps.

Absolutely Love It!!!

Great for collecting, creating, and sharing recipes across devices and with friends. Family meals are quality time for us. Thanks for making our life even better :-)

Love this app

Ive been using it for a few years, and they have corrected all of the import features and it is fab. I just wish I could pay to get rid of the ads.
